| 05/30/08 Dear Parents, Well the year is really coming to an end. Where did the time go? Next week we will be busy finalizing the quarter and report cards will be sent home on Friday. In Math, they took their test over surveys and graphs. I handed them back today. Next week, we will do a couple of sections from the next chapter which is also on graphing. There will be no more tests for the quarter. In Reading, we read a story out of our reading book. They took a quiz today and they have been corrected and sent home. Next week, because it is a short week, I will be having independent reading on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. I have told them to make sure they have a book to read during that time. Also, on Wednesday, we will have a “Slumber Read Day.” They can bring in their pillows, blankets, etc. to get comfortable and read. In Religion, we will be working on some crafts to end the year. They will not be having any more quizzes but as a reminder, their service hour needs to be handed in by next Wednesday. In English, I have read and graded their stories and they have been sent home throughout the week. Today, they handed in their book reports and I will read them over the weekend and hand them back on Monday. They will be having a test on Monday over synonyms, antonyms, homophones, and contractions. I handed out a short study guide for them to review. In Michigan History, they took their test over chapter 11. I have corrected them and they were sent home today. We also started reading chapter 12 and will finish this chapter on Wednesday but there will not be a test over this chapter. They will work on two worksheets to complete this chapter. In Science, we finished our chapter on flight. They will be having this test on Monday so please make sure they are reviewing their study guide. This will be the last test of the quarter. Their last spelling test will be on Monday. Please make sure that the permission slip for the Thursday field trip is handed in by Monday. Also, if you plan on attending please let your child know so the office can get an approximate count. I hope everyone has a great weekend and I’ll see you on Monday. Mrs. Kovel |
