Dear 3rd Grade Parents:
I hope everyone is looking forward to their nice long weekend. It is hard to believe that we are already in the middle of February.
In Math, we finished chapter 8 which is our second chapter on multiplication. Today, they worked on their chapter review and we will go over this on Tuesday. They will be having a test over this chapter on Wednesday. Please make sure that your child continues to practice their basic multiplication facts.
In English, we finished with our chapter on verbs. I gave them a study guide to review over this chapter and they will be having their test on Tuesday over this chapter. Please make sure they are reviewing their guide over the weekend.
In Reading, we started taking notes on famous Black History people. We will finish these notes up on Tuesday and they will be having a test over these people. I will keep you posted as to the date of this test. Next week, they will also be getting an assignment on writing a report on a famous Black History person. Next week, they will also be starting to read another book as a class. They will be having periodic quizzes over the book which I will let you know in advance.
In Religion, we began talking about Lent and what is expected during this time of the church year. They also made clay houses that reflected the town of Nazareth. Today, they received their worship bulletin which is due on Tuesday.
In Science, we started reading our next section on water. I am still correcting their science test and will be handing them back on Tuesday.
In Michigan History, they worked on their study guide on Michigan becoming a state. This test will be next Thursday so please make sure that your child is studying.
I am still collecting items for our “Movie Basket” and “Michigan-made Basket.” These items need to be in by next Wednesday because they will begin putting these baskets together. I appreciate all those who have donated to these baskets.
I hope that everyone has a great weekend and I’ll see everyone on Tuesday.
Mrs. Kovel
