I am writing to keep you informed in regards to the support system that will be available for dealing with loss and grief at St. Mary's in the coming days. Because the Peterson boys (Grades PK and K) will be attending school tomorrow we have made arrangements to have grief counseling services available through out the day. Teachers have been administered materials on what they may expect in the classroom and how to help the children who are grieving. Thank you to Hospice of Michigan for providing resources on such short notice. It is difficult to predict who will be affected by this unexpected loss. For example, some children may grieve because they see their friends grieving or those who have experienced a familiar loss may revisit that pain. Therefore, I would like you to be aware that we are doing all we can with the divine help of our Holy Mother Mary to support Mason and Michael Peterson, their mother Heidi, their family, friends, and teachers. Thank you for your prayers at this time.
