Dear Visitor:
The Dinner Dance Auction and Dance Practice
This is the last week before the Dinner Dance Auction, tickets are on sale now in the school office. We are still taking donations and will be very busy this week. Our Wrap Parties will be this week on Wednesday and Thursday after school. Setup will begin Saturday Morning at 9 am. We welcome all of the help that we can get. Please call Pam Sanchez at 810-223-1629 to help. Please also make every effort to sell your Luck o' the Irish Raffle tickets and have them turned in by this Thursday. We will be having one more scheduled practice for the “Thriller Dance”, to be performed at the Dinner Dance Auction, on Monday Feb. 20th at 6:00pm in the school gym. We can't wait to see you there, this is going to be so much FUN!
Lent is a season of concern for those in need, prayerful reflection, fasting and giving thanks. As we enter this season there are a few things that we ask that you keep in mind:
Concern For Those In Need
This year for our Lenten Service Project we will be donating personal needs items and children's books to the local Warming Center at Catholic Charities in Flint. There are many young families using the shelter so items appropriate for any age are welcome. Kasie White will be in charge of the donated items. There will be a drop off box in the school for these items soon.
Prayerful Reflection
As we turn our concentration towards self-examination this Lenten season, please consider signing up to take home the school's chalice for a week. Our chalice serves a dual purpose, to use during school masses and as a focus for family prayer. The sign up sheet is on the office window.
Giving Thanks
During this time of fasting and abstaining, please consider supporting our local Knights of Columbus Fish Fry. This is held every Friday through Lent at the Hall on Frances Rd. in Mt. Morris. They are open from 2 to 7 pm and offer shrimp, fried and baked fish plus sides for a very reasonable price. When you go there, please let them know that you are from St. Marys and that we appreciate everything that they do for us, from obtaining our chalice for school masses, to sponsoring contests and free throws for the children and so much more.
